![]() Your Personal Surgical JourneyWe at Bellevue Plastic Surgeons pride ourselves in delivering the best possible cosmetic surgery to our patients in a safe manner.Dr. Marosan's practice is 100% cosmetic plastic surgery and he is fully focused on this highly specialized aspect of plastic surgery. Most of our patients come from word of mouth recommendations from previous satisfied patients and our international patients find us through the internet. No matter how you find us, we will make your experience at Bellevue Plastic Surgeons a rewarding and memorable one.
Your first contact with us most likely is by e-mail or telephone. You will meet Doris first; she takes the calls (not a machine or recorder which forces you to listen to advertisement about the practice), will answer your questions, mail out a packet about us and a generalized description of the procedure you are interested in and sets up your consultation with Dr. Marosan.
For your consultation you can expect to spend at least one hour at our clinic. After you meet Doris in person and have a chance to have a coffee/tea, you'll fill out our short intake form. She will take you into our consultation room and Bonnie or Lauri (our registered nurses) will join you to take an initial medical history and discuss your desires and expectations about cosmetic surgery. After all your questions have been answered, the nurse takes you into the examination room, where Dr. Marosan will join you as well. No two consultations are alike as no two people are alike. You will get our undivided attention and respect and will always be treated with dignity. We do recognize and are sensitive that some patients feel uneasy initially and even embarrassed during the physical examination, but we'll treat you with the utmost professionalism and genuine care. Dr. Marosan will discuss your surgical options, if you are a good surgical candidate, and the realistic expectations, recovery and return to normal activity. You are encouraged to ask questions about the surgery or Dr. Marosan. He loves it when patients bring a list of questions, because this shows that they "did their homework" and gave serious thought to a life changing procedure.
If you decide to schedule your surgery, you will meet Susan. She schedules the surgery and also the preoperative visit about two weeks prior to the procedure. She will give you an exact, detailed and all inclusive quote about your procedure and financial options. This is an important visit, which again can take up to an hour or more. The nurse will do a more thorough examination, you will be given your prescriptions, vitamin supplements, preoperative preparation for the surgery and home care, required garments, etc. Dr. Marosan will meet you again, go over the plan for surgery, review the consent forms with you and answer any questions or concerns you might still have. We encourage you to bring a spouse or a close friend to this visit with you. There are a lot of instructions and information we need to give you and with the excitement for the upcoming procedure it's best to have "another set of ears". The anesthetist will call you the day prior to surgery and will go over your medical history, the anesthesia plan for your surgery and any concerns you have about anesthesia. Dr. Marosan has a 100% cosmetic surgery practice and has no contract with any insurance company. Therefore, payment for your surgery and anesthesia services is due two weeks prior to surgery at your preoperative visit. The consultation fee is deducted from your final bill. You are also given a list of medications or herbal supplements to stop prior to your surgery. These are usually compounds that interfere with clotting, can raise or lower your blood pressure or interfere with healing.
The day of surgery you and your ride need to arrive at the requested time.Wear only old and loose clothing that you don't mind if they get stained, no jewelry or piercings. Do not eat anything after midnight the night before unless otherwise instructed by the anesthetist. You can take the two small pills given to you with a small sip of water one hour prior to your arrival. Dr. Marosan will place the surgical markings on you which will guide him in surgery. Once the anesthetist start the intravenous line and gives you a relaxant, you will not remember much until you are ready to go home. When you wake up from anesthesia it's like waking up from a deep sleep and you wonder "where did the time go". We send you home when all your vital signs are normal, you are able to communicate with us verbally, but you might still be sleepy. This way, the car ride is tolerated much better. Your ride will get instructions from the nurse, the anesthetist and Dr. Marosan. Your ride will have the phone numbers to contact Dr. Marosan with any questions you might have. Dr. Marosan will call you the night of surgery to "check on you" and make sure that you are comfortable. The day after your surgery you must be brought back to the office for your first postoperative check. Dr. Marosan wants to make sure that everything is the way it should be and you are doing well. At this appointment we'll change your dressings, fill your pain pump again, and discuss your questions. See more information about Post-Operative Recovery
