Most surgeons in the US do the traditional “Wise pattern” or anchor scar reduction/lift. Most surgeons will also tell you that the long scars under the breasts are well hidden and they fade over time. Actually, over time, these scars migrate up to the lower poles of the breasts, into the cleavage and lateral chest wall area outside the bikini top (matter of fact you cannot cover it up with a bikini top!). Many times this technique creates a flattened, boxy (square) looking breasts with loss of shape, superior fullness and projection over time.
In the last 13 years, I have done over 500 short scar breast reductions/lifts. This gives a more natural, rounded look to the breasts, with increased superior pole fullness, increased projection and long lasting results.
